Purchased piece by piece by my mother in the late 1940's and early 1950's from Marshal Fields Chicago. Duncan Phyfe Type Drop leaf mahogany 3 pedestal dining room table. Each pedestal has 2 legs w/ brass cap.
Table w/ drop leaves down and no leaves is 33 x 42x 29 1/2" tall, easily goes thru doorway. Fully extended length w/ all leaves is approx 8 1/2 ft.
Shield back Chairs x 6, measure 37 1/2" at tallest part, 18" deep, 27" wide.
I can find no identifying marks indicating the manufacturer.
Professionally refinished in 1994, shortly after, I dropped a heavy circular chandelier piece on it, see photos for the damage. The photos make it the worst I could make it look. You have to search for it in daylight/natural light, but I figured it would be best to have damage be less than expected when actually visualized.
Other than that it is in great shape and looking for a new home, downsizing. Very serious prospects only please. 2 people can move the complete set.
Able to get same time period mahogany china cabinet, if its absence was a deal breaker, add $1000, and will have to be moved up a flight of stairs from a basement, different location, near north suburb chicago, very committed buyers only please. Photos upon request.
