# Form Automation Rules for Emails and SMS | NeetoForm

Set up form automation rules in NeetoForm to send emails, SMS or API requests automatically when a submission arrives or a custom field changes.

## Overview

Form automation rules in NeetoForm run actions automatically when something happens to a submission. A rule has a trigger, optional conditions based on answers or custom fields, and one or more actions. Rules can fire when a submission is created or when a custom field is updated.

Available actions include sending an email to the form creator, the submitter, workspace members or any address, sending an SMS to the submitter or a specific number, and sending the data to an API endpoint.

An HR team can mark an applicant as Passed in a custom field and have NeetoForm email the candidate interview details while notifying the interviewer. A customer experience team can alert the service team whenever a feedback survey scores below 4, so low ratings get attention quickly.
