In September at [NeetoRecord](https://www.neeto.com/neetorecord), we focused on action items that appear on their own and a single timeline for cutting and zooming in the editor, along with updates to the Chrome extension and the desktop app.

Here's everything we shipped in September 2026 in NeetoRecord.

## New features 🚀

#### Action items are generated automatically

Earlier, you had to click Generate with AI to get a recording's action items. NeetoRecord now [pulls out the action items on its own](https://engage.neetorecord.com/changelogs/action-items-from-your-recordings) as soon as the transcript is ready. Action items is the first tab on the watch page, and viewers can tick items off while a progress bar shows how many are done.

#### Cuts and zooms on one timeline

Earlier, the editor had separate modes for cutting and for zooming. You now [split and add zooms on one timeline](https://help.neetorecord.com/articles/adding-zoom-effects-to-recorded-videos), with the zoom lane right under the audio waveform. Back-to-back zooms also glide from one spot to the next instead of zooming out and back in.

## Enhancements ✨

#### System audio in the web recorder

Pro users can once again [record tab or system audio](https://engage.neetorecord.com/changelogs/system-audio-in-the-web-recorder-2) from the web recorder, the same as in the Chrome extension and the desktop app. Chrome's share picker offers to share audio, and NeetoRecord mixes it with your microphone.

#### Search recordings by what was said

Earlier, search on the recordings page matched only recording and folder names. It now also looks through each recording's transcript, so you can find a video from a phrase you remember. Recordings whose title matches still appear first.

#### IP restriction

Admins can now [allow access to their workspace only from specific IP addresses or IP ranges](https://help.neetorecord.com/articles/ip-restriction), so only people on trusted networks can view or work with your recordings. The settings page shows your current IP address, and the restriction can't be turned on until that address is in an allowed range, so you don't lock yourself out.

#### Keep watching while you write a comment

Earlier, the video paused as soon as you started writing a comment. It now keeps playing, and the [comment](https://help.neetorecord.com/articles/commenting-on-recordings) stays pinned to the moment you started typing. Drafts are saved too, so switching tabs or reloading the page doesn't lose what you wrote.

#### Watch page player improvements

Captions now sit on a solid dark background, so they are easy to read over any video. The player resizes to fit your screen without pushing the controls out of view, and recordings that aren't 16:9 fill the player without black bars. The play button also shows the NeetoRecord mark, in your theme's color.

#### Chapters stay in the transcript's language

AI [chapters](https://help.neetorecord.com/articles/video-chaptering) and action items now use the language of the transcript, even when a few lines of the recording are in another language. If you regenerate a transcript in a different language, existing chapters are regenerated to match.

#### Copy all chapters in one click

The Chapters tab has a Copy all chapters button next to Add chapter. It copies every chapter as a time and a title on its own line, ready to paste into a YouTube description.

#### Browser tabs show only your recording's title

The browser tab on watch pages and recording request pages now shows only the recording's title, without NeetoRecord added at the end. These pages carry your branding, so the tab title now matches.

#### MCP and transcript search improvements

AI assistants connected through our [MCP server](https://help.neetorecord.com/articles/mcp) now know a recording has screenshots as well as a transcript, so they capture frames when the screen matters. Transcript search now finds recordings that mention every word of your query, in any order.

#### Recover recordings that stopped midway

Earlier, if the browser crashed or closed during a recording, the part already uploaded was lost. Now the recordings page, and the Chrome extension the next time you open it, offer to [recover that recording from what was uploaded](https://engage.neetorecord.com/changelogs/recover-unfinished-recordings) or discard it. Desktop app recordings already recover from your computer.

#### Save every recording to one folder in the desktop app

When the desktop app [saves recordings to your computer](https://help.neetorecord.com/articles/save-video-to-laptop), you can now pick a folder once and have every recording saved there without a save dialog. Asking where to save each time stays the default.

#### AAC audio in the desktop app

The desktop app now has an [AAC audio option](https://help.neetorecord.com/articles/audio-codec-for-recordings) in its advanced recording settings. Choose it if your video editor, such as Premiere Pro, can't open the default Opus audio, so downloaded recordings import without converting them first.

## Bug fixes ⚒️

- Moving a recording to another workspace now keeps its action items, and no longer shows a page-not-found screen after the move.

- Zooms on an edited recording now play at the right moment on the watch page, in embeds and in MP4 downloads, instead of shifting after a cut.

- When a summary can't be generated, the recording page now says so and suggests adding one manually, instead of showing an empty box.

- Opening the Chrome extension no longer briefly turns on your default microphone and camera, and switching microphones releases the one you switched away from.

- When a website blocks camera or microphone access, the Chrome extension now says the website blocked it instead of asking you to change Chrome's settings.

- The desktop app on Mac no longer stops your computer from going to sleep while it sits idle in the background.

- Recordings saved only to your computer from the desktop app are no longer cut off at the end, and the toolbar now closes after saving.

- In the desktop app on Mac, the first click in the Settings window now works, instead of needing an extra click to focus the window.
