To cancel your Calendly subscription, open the Admin Center, go to Billing, select Change plan, choose Upgrade/Downgrade and pick the Free plan. Your paid features stay active until the end of your billing cycle, and then your account moves to Calendly's free plan. Calendly says payments are generally non-refundable.

Before you downgrade, know what you lose: on Calendly Free only 1 event type stays on, and reminders and payments stop. If price is why you are leaving, a team of 10 on [Calendly Teams](https://www.neeto.com/neetocal/blog/calendly-pricing) pays $1,920 a year. [NeetoCal](https://www.neeto.com/neetocal/compare/calendly-alternative) is free for that same team, with unlimited scheduling links, reminders, payments and round robin. Removing NeetoCal branding is the only paid option, at $300 a year for 10 people on yearly billing.

## How to cancel your Calendly subscription

These steps come from [Calendly's help center](https://calendly.com/help/how-to-cancel-your-calendly-subscription). You need to be an Owner or Admin on the account to change the plan.

1. Log in to Calendly and open the **Admin Center**.

2. Go to the **Billing** page.

3. Select **Change plan**.

4. Choose **Upgrade/Downgrade**.

5. Select the **Free** plan and confirm.

- **Timing:** the change happens at the end of your billing cycle. If you pay yearly, you keep paid features until your renewal date.

- **Refunds:** payments are generally non-refundable. You can contact Calendly support about a special case.

- **Free trials:** to cancel a trial, Calendly says to contact its billing team. If a trial ends and you do not upgrade, the account moves to the free plan.

## Switching to NeetoCal

NeetoCal fits people who are leaving Calendly because of per-seat pricing or features locked behind paid plans. Multiple meeting types, round robin, routing forms, reminders and payments are all on the free plan. It also has things Calendly does not offer on any plan, such as [recurring meetings](https://www.neeto.com/neetocal/features/recurring-meetings) and a [custom domain](https://www.neeto.com/neetocal/features/custom-domain). The only paid option removes NeetoCal branding and adds custom CSS: $5 per user per month, or $30 per user per year. If you want to compare more tools first, see our list of [Calendly alternatives](https://www.neeto.com/neetocal/blog/calendly-alternatives).

## What happens to your links and bookings

Cancelling keeps your account. You drop to the free plan and its limits. Booked meetings stay on your account: a Calendly community manager confirmed that [cancelling does not delete them](https://community.calendly.com/asked-answered-79/cancelling-your-paid-calendly-subscription-4886).

The event type limit is the one that catches people out. Calendly's support team explains in the [Calendly community](https://community.calendly.com/how-do-i-40/only-one-active-event-type-in-free-version-of-calendly-1102) that only one event type can be on at a time on the free plan. Any link you shared for an event type that is turned off will stop taking bookings. Check the links on your website, email signature and social profiles before the billing cycle ends.

Calendly itself suggests downgrading if you might return later. For most people switching tools, downgrading first is the safer move. Delete only after your last booked meeting in Calendly has happened.

## How to delete your Calendly account

From [Calendly's help center](https://calendly.com/help/how-to-delete-your-account):

1. Open **Settings** , then **Profile**.

2. Scroll to the bottom and select **Delete Account**.

3. Choose an option. Owners can transfer ownership and delete their account, or delete the account and disband the organization. Members can keep their account and leave the organization.

4. Enter the verification code sent to your email.

5. If you are transferring ownership or leaving, select the new owner.

6. Choose a reason and select **Delete**.

If you own a team account, you must hand ownership to someone else or disband the organization before your account can go.

## How to move to another scheduling tool without missing bookings

1. **List what you use today.** Write down each event type, its length, booking form questions, buffer times and reminders.

2. **Connect your calendar first** in the new tool, so it sees your busy times, including meetings booked through Calendly.

3. **Recreate your meeting types** as new scheduling links and copy over your form questions.

4. **Swap your links** on your website, email signature, social profiles and automated emails.

5. **Let old bookings finish.** If a client already booked in Calendly, let that meeting run there rather than asking them to rebook.

6. **Cancel or delete.** Downgrade at the end of your billing cycle, then delete the account if you want a clean break.

If you pay yearly, plan the switch a few weeks before your renewal date, since the downgrade only takes effect at the end of the cycle.

## Is Calendly still worth keeping?

Calendly is reliable and easy to use, and its Salesforce and HubSpot integrations are a real strength for sales teams. If you use one meeting type and need nothing else, the free plan is fine and there is no reason to delete your account. If the cost, the missing reminders and payments on Free, or the lack of recurring bookings are why you are cancelling, a switch is likely worth it.
