# Calculated Fields in Online Forms | NeetoForm

Use calculated fields in NeetoForm to total prices, score quizzes, and apply tax or discounts in real time based on respondents' answers.

## Overview

Calculated fields in NeetoForm perform real-time calculations based on a respondent's answers. Use them to show a running price on an order form, add up quiz scores, or apply tax and discount rates. Numeric calculated fields support add, subtract, multiply, divide, and assign. Text calculated fields support assign, concat, and prepend.

You add a calculated field from the elements list, give it a name such as Price or Score, choose Number or Text, and set an optional starting value. The field then works with conditional logic: you define rules that change its value based on responses, such as multiplying Price by a quantity field.

Calculated values are hidden by default. You can show them in a paragraph element or link them to a payment element to charge a dynamic amount, and each value is stored with the submission, where you can review it from the Submissions tab.
