# Booking Reference ID for Meeting Context | NeetoCal

Attach a booking reference ID to your scheduling link in NeetoCal so every meeting arrives with a note on where the client came from and why they booked.

## Overview

A booking reference ID, called RefID in NeetoCal, attaches a short note of context to a meeting. You write the note in My Preferences, such as a link to a Slack message, a support ticket, or a social media thread, and NeetoCal generates a unique RefID code for it.

Add the code to your scheduling link as a URL parameter, for example?refid=gyf6yug, and share that link. When the client books, the RefID is attached automatically, and the note appears in the Notes section of the upcoming meeting. Support teams, sales reps, and consultants use booking reference IDs to remember why a call was scheduled, even weeks after the first conversation. You join every meeting knowing the background.
