# CRM API Keys for the Public API | NeetoCRM

Generate CRM API keys in NeetoCRM to call the public API. Name each key, set an expiry date or never expire, and copy it anytime from the API keys list.

## Overview

NeetoCRM API keys let your team authenticate calls to the public API, so you can connect the CRM to your own apps and scripts. Admins create keys from the Admin panel by giving each one a name and choosing an expiry date, or marking it as never expiring.

Naming keys by purpose, such as a data sync or an internal dashboard, makes it clear what each one is used for. Setting an expiry date limits how long a key stays valid. Keys stay in the API keys list, so you can copy one again later. A separate Zapier key type is reserved for the Zapier integration.
