Check requirements

• Codex installed on your computer.
• A NeetoChat account.

Connect NeetoChat to Codex

1. Open or create ~/.codex/config.toml.

2. Paste this at the end of the file:

   [mcp_servers.neetochat]
   url = "https://connect.neetochat.com/mcp/messages"
   

3. Run codex mcp login neetochat and sign in to NeetoChat in your browser.

Connect with an API key

An API key reaches the whole workspace, not only what you can see. It is not tied to a person, and role checks do not run.

Export the variable before starting Codex:

export NEETOCHAT_API_KEY=YOUR_API_KEY

Troubleshooting

Your AI assistant shows no NeetoChat tools

Check the server is under a [mcp_servers.<name>] section, not a different key. Restart Codex after editing the file.

The connection is refused or unauthorized

With an API key, confirm NEETOCHAT_API_KEY is exported before Codex starts. With OAuth, run codex mcp login neetochat again.
